Artist Biography
Grace Scarlet is an 18 year old artist with a rare ability to reach through time with her paintbrush, capturing an old world sensibility in each landscape. From the grandeur of mountains to the quiet turns in a country path that leave you wondering what lies just ahead, she finds endless enchantment in quaint New England and brings that spirit to her work. Her paintings rarely include a building or a figure, focusing instead on the raw landscape. When you stand before one of her scenes, you may feel as though you are the first to witness it.
Grace has been painting since the age of three. She works from her studios in New London, New Hampshire and Woodstock, Vermont. In recent years she has immersed herself in the Hudson River School tradition, drawing inspiration from artists such as Thomas Cole and Albert Bierstadt. For two years she studied with the prominent New England landscape artist Ron Brown, who passed down traditional techniques and classical approaches.
Her art reflects a collected over time aesthetic that values heritage and understated luxury. The paintings bring a sense of grounding and quiet refinement. Through moody oils depicting serene countryside and pastoral New England scenes, she creates work that gives a room the feeling of being established, elegant, and welcoming.
Art does not live in isolation but in conversation with its surroundings. If you want your home to feel deeply layered and thoughtfully collected, with a spirit of timeless elegance, Grace keeps that vision in mind each day as she paints the natural world around her.
Her heart lives in every painterly brushstroke, and she would love to bring that feeling into your home.
The work of Grace Scarlet is featured in several galleries, including Landscape Gallery at Bryan Memorial in Jeffersonville, Vermont, Go Native Gallery in Concord, New Hampshire, and Bayview Gallery in Meredith, New Hampshire. She is also a grassroots contributor of the Rockport Art Association and Museum in Rockport, Massachusetts.
