Grace Scarlet | Artist Biography

Grace Scarlet creates oil landscape paintings that capture the raw, untamed essence of the natural world. By stripping away all human elements such as buildings, figures, and structures, she focuses entirely on the wilderness as a place of undisturbed solitude.

Drawing from the Hudson River School tradition, Grace uses the dramatic interplay of light and shadow to evoke a sense of antique majesty. Her process is rooted in classical training, utilizing traditional oil techniques to create scenes that feel discovered rather than painted.

Her work is an invitation to pause. She aims to provide a sense of grounding and timeless refinement, transforming interior spaces into environments that feel established, quiet, and deeply collected.

Based in New London, New Hampshire, and Woodstock, Vermont, Grace’s work is featured in several regional galleries, including the Bryan Memorial Gallery, Go Native Gallery, Tatewell Gallery, and Bayview Gallery. She is also a grassroots contributor to the Rockport Art Association and Museum. Since selling out her first solo exhibition of 22 paintings at the age of 13, Grace has remained dedicated to a lifelong journey of artistic discovery and quiet exploration.
